WORKING AT LONDON FASHION WEEK @ FASHIONS FINEST EVENT
FEB 2017

I was lucky enough to be offered some work experience with the awesome Fashions Finest team at there LFW event.  Now anyone who's interested in fashion will know it doesn't get much better than being able to attend such a event!
To say I was excited was a understatement, not so excited about having to catch the Doncaster to London train at 5.30AM !!!!!

I arrived at the location (De Vere Grand Connaught Room) at 7.30am and WOW what a hotel it was stunning, I couldn't ask for a better "office" for the day.

I had been told I'd be working backstage with the stylist Cindy, I quickly located where I needed to be and reported to Cindy ( a lovely, bright and bubbly young women with a quirky style to match ).

Cindy gave me a quick brief of how the day SHOULD pan out and there would be two shows ..... 3.30 and 5.30.

I was assigned to 2 designers and quickly set to work fitting the models with there corresponding garments.  All the models and designers were awesome to deal with and not a ounce of any diva like attitude I had expected hahaha.

No sooner had we finished the fittings I was quickly given the UBER important task of making sure all models were seen by the hair and make up team in time for the first show to start.  Now this doesn't seem like the most arduous of tasks but believe me I certainly felt the pressure..... But by some miracle I managed to pull it off in time.
 PHEW!!!!!

At this point I was gagging for a cuppa tea (You can take the girl outta Yorkshire haha) and sneaked off do down myself a few brews.

Then 3.30 was fast approaching....... me and the rest of the team quickly moved all the garments backstage into the designated areas and was assigned two models to look after throughout the shows!

I was looking after the beautiful Tarcha and the equally stunning Holly!

I put there garments into the running ordered and helped them both into there first outfits just in the nick of time for the music to start and the show to begin!!

And in the blink of a eye and a lot of naked bodies (the models are anything but shy haha) the show was over.

And wow what a experience.  It was great to see how a show was run, especially at such a presegious event such as fashion week.  It was also a good opportunity to make lots of contacts....... Ive cemented some more work experience and even had my own designs noticed by the Fashions Finest team who have invited me to show case my own collection at the next LFW in sept!!!

Exciting times.

Came across theses the other day and couldn't resist! If like me you grew up in the 90's , you'll remember Puma releasing the Puma discs in 1994. The laces were replaced with a disc and wires & you simply turned the disc to tighten your sneaker. MAGIC!!! Well it seemed it at the time & they quickly became the trainer to have at school that year. I wasn't one of the fortunate people who owned a pair back then (massive sad face).  However  my brother did so that was almost as good hahaha. Well over 20 years later I own a pair!!! Puma have a ongoing collaboration with Sophia Chang and shes created these wedged  version of the discs. A new spin on a old classic and I've been transported back in time and I'm pleased as punch lol, If you haven't heard of Sophia Chang you should check her out. Designer/Illustrator shes worked with the likes of Nike, NBA, Marc Jacobs, Nixon and Hapers Bazaar to name but a few! Click to see ...
Well last week brought to a end my first design brief. I was extremely pleased with how my skirt and shirt turned out. And even more happy with the grades that accompanied the manufacture and the design process! 2-1  Whoop whoop. Check it out and let me know what you think!
WHEN YOU FINALLY MEET YOUR HERO ...  WORK EXPERENCE AT ADIDAS HEAD OFFICE Well after about 3 year of pestering I was finally given the go ahead for some work experience at the Adidas head office. Upon arrival I was given a multitude of forms to sign........one being a confidentiality agreement (very MI5). I was told that this was due to the fact I would be working with the spring/summer 2018 collections!!!!! EEK how exciting.  Unfortunately this also meant that I wasn't allowed to take any photos apart from in the communal areas. Now this is a company I can work for......they have such a laid back approach and think nothing if you get up from your desk to pop to one of there two colossal on site gyms for the odd hour to blow of some steam. Adidas belive in keeping there staff as healthy as possible and are happy to help you in your quest for fitness and general wellbeing. And it WORKS....... I didn't meet one person who wasn't happy to wor...
